Berührungstour durch die Ausstellung

In the organizer's words:

By immersing ourselves in our senses to experience a selection of works temporarily installed in Lantz's Park, the guided "The Park as Lover" touch tour invites a small group of 12-14 audience members to feel their way through the exhibition.

Choreographer and vision rehabilitation therapist Alyssa Gersony will offer a one-hour guided tour that will lead the audience through textures, temperatures and sounds. The tour will begin with a collective movement exercise to attune us to our physical experience and end with a group reflection through shared dialog and conversation.

Adaptations for different mobility and sensory needs are welcome. Please contact us in advance.

Alyssa Gersony is a performing artist and specialist in orientation and mobility, working between Brussels, Rīga and New York City. Her creative process moves between the worlds of choreography and disability therapy and ties in with explorations of rehabilitation, autoethnography and cultural erosion.

Guided tour: August 02, 2024, main entrance to the park, 14:00 (60 min.)

Afterwards:
15:00 Fermentation workshop with Asli Hatipoğlu

Registration is requested by July 31: theparkaslover@gmx.de

About the exhibition:

The Park as Lover is the fifth edition of the Lantz'scher Skulpturenpark, a project of the Kunstkommission Düsseldorf.

In this year's three-month exhibition, performance and event program conceived by Katharina Klang, we encounter Lantz'sche Park in Lohausen from the perspective of its non-human inhabitants as equal counterparts - as lovers.

Twelve international and local artists react to demarcations such as nature / culture, animal / human, man / woman with playful attitudes and focus on the symbiotic relationships as well as the creative and transformative abilities of all beings. At the center of this alternative concept to Western ideas and practices are a comprehensive kinship of all species and a way of thinking from multiple perspectives that includes questioning asymmetrical power structures, as expressed in the stately conceptions of European landscape gardens.

Participating artists:

Zuzanna Czebatul, Poncili Creación, Richard Frater, Gerrit Frohne-Brinkmann, Keta Gavasheli, Asli Hatipoğlu, Lilli Lake, Rosilene Luduvico & Takeshi Makishima, Hedda Roman, Lin May Saeed, Annie Sprinkle & Beth Stephens, Katja Tönnissen
