As head of a homicide squad in Bremen and deputy head of the violent crime squad,Axel Petermann has dealt with more than 1000 cases in which people have died unnatural deaths. In 2000, he began setting up the "Operative Case Analysis" department, which he headed until his retirement in 2014. As a lecturer in criminalistics, he has taught at various universities in Germany for many years. Since 2001, he has been a specialist consultant for various "Tatort" formats (including Bremen, Münster, Cologne) as well as for numerous documentary and news programs on ZDF, RTL and SAT1. Since 2018, he has been the presenter and case analyst for the successful ZDF series "Aufgeklärt - Spektakuläre Kriminalfälle". His podcast "Das entscheidende Indiz", which he has published together with Teresa Sickert since 2023, is also very popular. He has already published numerous books that have become Spiegel bestsellers, including "Der Profiler" published by Heyne in 2015. Axel Petermann has three sons and lives with his wife near Bremen.
