A movie full of wit and anger, dirty and crass, about the pursuit of beauty and the search for love.

Gregor Samsa (Oliver Masucci), an ageing director in his late 50s, is actually in his prime, but he no longer knows what to do with it. The post-midlife crisis and neglect of prosperity are taking hold, Samsa indulges in his hedonism with visits to brothels, alcohol consumption and bored night-time tours through the city.
He dreads the industry that made him big.
He survives the German Film Award reception drunk and blaspheming, and comments on his colleagues' showcase with bitter mockery. He leaves the party in a hurry and takes refuge in a second-hand bookshop. Grete (Bella Dayne) appears here, fairy-like and beautiful, whom he meets again a little later in a brothel of all places and chooses her as his sensual and intellectual muse.
The next day, the shooting of his new movie begins. Everything goes wrong on set right from the start. Gregor clashes with the arrogant leading actors (Anne Ratte-Polle, Elie Kaempfen), whom he can't stand, the team, whom he considers incompetent, the high-handed assistant director (Götz Otto) and the smug producer (Anton Rattinger), who is not interested in anything except his money. While the filming threatens to slip away from him in the final hours before the first take and he falls into madness, Gregor's only option is to flee forwards: to Grete, to love ... but things turn out very differently.
