Brooklyn trio Bambara is an extraordinary, nocturnal, modernist rock band with a Southern Gothic twist that has honed its macabre vision to perfection over the course of its five albums to date. The three members of Bambara - vocalist and guitarist Reid Bateh, his twin brother Blaze Bateh (drums), and bassist William Brookshire - began playing together in junior high school in Atlanta, GA, and have been obsessively honing their sound and vision ever since; first moving to Athens, GA, and eventually to Brooklyn, where they've settled in for the long haul. Their story really took off after 2020's breakthrough Stray album - an album whose volatile and often explosive wall of sound provided a gnarly backdrop for Reid's signature twisted midnight tales. Having toured with Idles and Gilla Band (both huge fans) before the pandemic, this was the album - propelled by their propulsive 'Serafina' single and widespread support from 6Music - that really put them on the map on both sides of the Atlantic. They were duly signed to Bella Union (Wharf Cat in the US) and today announce a major tour of the UK and Europe for 2025.
