Stories about the tango

The timbre of the tango was inspired by a small box-like instrument, the invention of which took place in provincial Krefeld of all places. From there, the small, as yet undiscovered miracle of sound went on a world and sea voyage and, by chance, arrived in Argentina, where in the suburbs of Buenos Aires it became the instrument of the tango: the bandoneon.

This charming evening by Henrik Albrecht on the bandoneon and the reciter and author Andreas Durban tells the story of a tango journey. The spirited soundscape of the tango is complemented by short stories about the bandoneon and poetic and curious experiences of a journey of the soul on the wings of melancholy.
