In the organizer's words:
SATURDAY, June 27, 26 - 11:59 p.m. -
Friends!
During Kiel Week, the city becomes a gauntlet for women* and queer-identified people in many places due to drunken crowds. Cis men, in particular, take over our streets, assuming the right to be loud, uninhibited, and at times intrusive.
That’s why a “Take Back the Night” march has been organized again this year: Saturday at 8 p.m. on the Exer! @fantifa.kiel
Unfortunately, these 10 days of KiWo each year are just the tip of the iceberg: acts of violence against queer people are on the rise, toxic male stereotypes ranging from “dominant” to “protective” are being promoted, and for women*, the most dangerous place remains their own home.
But there are also organizations that stand by those affected by patriarchal violence! To do our part in the queer-feminist struggle, €4 from every ticket sale will be donated to the Kieler Frauenhaus e.V. (You’re welcome to give more—that will be passed on as well.)
“Women*” naturally includes both trans and cis women.
