Unfortunately, the international Battle of the Year in Taiwan had to be canceled due to a severe typhoon. Therefore we also had to make the decision to postpone our event on August 23rd. Due to the current circumstances, the BATTLE OF THE YEAR - Next Generation in Dresden will not take place until spring/summer 2026. We will announce an exact date as soon as possible!

But: The event is not canceled, just postponed!

Now the sensational news: Thanks to you, we have reached the first crowdfunding threshold! We are overwhelmed by your support and your trust. You are absolutely amazing!

The Battle of the Year (BOTY) Germany is the undisputed centerpiece of German crew breaking and a global icon since the 1990s. Its tradition and unique battles inspire and motivate dancers worldwide - as impressively demonstrated by THE SAXONZ's multiple victories. Winning BOTY Germany was a founding goal for THE SAXONZ - a dream that came true in 2014, 2015 and 2019, bringing the title to Saxony. The intensive preparation for the BOTY strengthens cohesion, team spirit, individual skills, creativity, originality and immense motivation within the crews. They are now even active as national coaches in the national squad.

This year, we are delighted to launch BOTY - NEXT GENERATION, a ground-breaking international competition for dancers aged 18 and under. We firmly believe that the future of urban dance lies in this youth. We offer these young talents a professional stage and the same appreciation as established crews. The aim is to actively support and promote young breaking talents throughout Germany and thus create a broader, more diverse scene.

BOTY Next Generation promotes development, visibility and cultural exchange and embodies the very spirit that has made the Battle of the Year a global cultural phenomenon.

The first BOTY - NEXT GENERATION will take place in Dresden on August 23, 2025, as a preliminary round for the final in Taiwan. We are thus providing long-term cultural input, creating new opportunities for growing young talent and strengthening team spirit in the dance scene.
