BEACH&BEATS: Drei Tage Sport, Musik und Badespaß am Strandbad Rodgau
In the organizer's words:
BEACH&BEATS: Three days of sports, music, and fun at the Rodgau Beach
Sand beneath your feet, balls flying through the air, and live music under the open sky in the evenings: From June 26 to 28, the Baggerseepiraten—the third-division handball team from HSG Rodgau Nieder-Roden—will transform Rodgau Beach into a mini-festival venue. Under the name BEACH&BEATS 2026, they’ll combine three days of sports, music, affordable food and drinks, swimming fun, and offerings from local businesses into a celebration for the whole neighborhood—from the very youngest to the very oldest.
Due to the high summer temperatures, the organizer has adapted the concept and provided plenty of shade. Tents and pavilions offer protection from the sun throughout the entire grounds, plenty of water is available, and direct access to the lakeshore is open—for a quick dip to cool off in between activities. The staff makes sure that all guests are well taken care of. Younger participants are also taking part in the tournaments, which are held in a shortened format with adjusted game times.
The event kicks off on Friday, June 26, at 2 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Beach Volleyball Fun Cup opens to everyone, with teams from local companies, clubs, and groups of friends competing against each other. Starting at 7 p.m., the regional student band The Unforced Errors will kick off the musical entertainment.
Saturday, June 27, begins at 9 a.m. Starting at 10 a.m., the A and B youth teams will compete in the beach handball tournament. Things will get busy in the afternoon: Starting at 5 p.m., adults will compete in the beach handball Fun Cup, which will continue under floodlights late into the night while DJ Sascha Appel spins tunes. At 7:30 p.m., the highlight of the evening will be a performance by the Madhouse Flowers—a Frankfurt-based band known far beyond the region that has played at the Mainuferfest many times before.
On Sunday, June 28, starting at 9 a.m., the youth tournament for C and D youth teams will round out the sports program. Starting at 10:30 a.m., a morning beer gathering in the shade accompanied by brass band music awaits. The Spessartklang Hobbach band will provide the perfect soundtrack. The stage program ends daily at 10 p.m.; however, anyone who wishes can stay by the lake late into the warm summer night. In addition to soft drinks, a variety of refreshing beverages will be served, ranging from spritzers and apple wine to light lager on tap. Those who are hungry can look forward to delicious grilled items, French fries, and falafel as a vegetarian option.
Free admission to the lake grounds is available for players, coaches, and team staff. All other guests pay only the standard lake admission fee. Until 7:30 p.m., access is via the ticket booth; after that, entry is directly through the separate entrance to the beach volleyball court—free admission is then available for everyone! Every lake visitor is invited to stop by the beach volleyball court, just a few steps from the shore.
The festival is made possible by many helping hands: With support from the City of Rodgau and the team at the lake, HSG Rodgau Nieder-Roden is providing around 170 volunteer shifts. The stage is provided by the Economic Development Agency, along with numerous other companies from the region that make the festival possible.
