The BBC calls him "King of Sound, Ruler of Beats", and that is no understatement. He is a two-time UK Beatbox Champion, MC, stage comedian, gifted improviser, producer and pioneer of live looping. Anyone who has ever seen him live will never forget this spectacle.

The Brit Darren Foreman is best known for his unique live sets. He explores the limits of human beatboxing by creating all sounds live, running them through loops and effects devices at the same time and creating complete songs from them. His tools: mouth, nose, throat - sound imitations and voice effects in perfect harmony. In order not to let spontaneity and creativity fail because of technology, he has developed Beardytron, probably the world's most comprehensive and free live production system of all time, to produce his real-time workflows and live improvisations on stage in studio quality.

He also achieved fame as a beatboxing super housewife in "Kitchen Diaries" on YouTube. The clip is a little older, but always good for a revival. His show "One Album per Hour", in which he created a brand new album live on stage from song titles invented by the audience, was sensational. He self-deprecatingly called his debut album "I Done A Album". Gathered on it: An incredible spectrum of disparate tracks of weird electronica experiments, ranging from dubstep to funk and drum'n'bass to psychedelic dub, venturing into all realms.

What Beardyman does on stage is difficult to explain to the uninitiated - you have to experience it. He is more than just a musician or MC, he is a wanderer between the worlds of hip-hop, performance art and comedy. His previous performances at the Gretchen are unforgettable.
