Ludwig van Beethoven: String quartets op. 18/1, op. 74 "Harp Quartet" & op. 59/3 "Rasumowsky"
Beethoven's string quartets are bursting with ingenuity and present all four instruments with unexpected challenges. In the second part of the cycle, our resident ensemble takes us from the composer's first quartet to the less frequently played Opus 74, known as the "Harp Quartet" because of its plucked theme, and the energetic third piece from Opus 59.
