Like a warm embrace - that's what it feels like to dive into Beharie's musical universe. Beharie is deeply rooted in indie soul and conveys a rawness that dares to be both vulnerable and confident. This combination has earned him a loyal following.

This year finally sees the release of his debut album. "Are You There, Boy?" will be released on October 20, 2023. The project is a soulful, musical journey with stories about a multi-layered character yearning for true connections. The album delves into different facets of Beharie's life, beautifully expressed in 12 captivating tracks, weaving together narratives of identity, queer love, self-awareness, vulnerability and the poignant experience of loneliness.

Beharie has already received much recognition for his music in his career thus far. He won the Spellemann Prize (also referred to as the "Norwegian Grammy") for his second EP, "Beharie // Beharie," and was nominated for the same award for his third EP, "Beharie, The Third."

GAFFA Magazine says: "The similarities to Frank Ocean, both in voice and melodic line, are so striking that one is tempted to look into Beharie's family tree. A bold comparison, yes, but you have to reach those heights to properly portray this man's talent."

The praise has led to prestigious engagements. For example, he supported Leon Bridges at his Oslo concert, performed at the official opening of the Norwegian National Museum, and participated in the government's celebration of Skeivt Kulturår (Year of Queer Culture). Beharie supported a month-long European tour by American songwriter William Fitzsimmons, performed on the main stage of the prestigious OYA Festival in Oslo and at the Swiss Montreux Jazz Festival.

Beharie continues to explore new and exciting horizons with his ability to express emotion through a warm, soulful and timeless sound. In 2023, he will take the world on an epic musical journey with the release of his highly anticipated debut album "Are You There, Boy?" and live performances.
