After two outstanding, sold-out seasons at the Berlin Circus Festival, we are delighted to welcome the Italian circus collective Fabbrica C to the Chamäleon stage with a very special, extended version of their successful piece BELLO!
With a combination of storytelling and flowing, acrobatic choreography, BELLO! brings together six artists and an actress who doesn't know what's happening to her. Together they explore - sometimes gently and poetically, sometimes rough and tumultuous - how we find beauty within and how we carry it out into the world.
Created by director Francesco Sgrò and an international ensemble of acrobats, BELLO! unfolds as a series of short stories that reveal the intricacies, frustrations and wonders of seemingly banal, everyday interactions. Intricate, almost meditative acrobatics morph into satires on garish fashion shows and joyful ballets, before returning to the simplicity of touch, connection and physical collaboration.
BELLO! exists in a world and aesthetic all of its own, combining traditional group acrobatics with contemporary forms of movement such as contact improvisation and physical theater. The result is a stage world that welcomes its audience with open arms and makes us ask ourselves together: What do we owe each other? What do we owe each other?
A play about the power of wonder, created by artists in search of new paths, forms and modes of expression.
