Ben Haviour - Audio Visual Concert
In the organizer's words:
Ben Haviour live at the PAX Church in Leipzig
Saturday, July 11, 2026 • Doors open at 7:00 p.m. • Show starts at 8:00 p.m.
Opening act: Pony Pracht (Leipzig) • Visuals: Anika Mätzke
With his debut album*Melancholy Rave*, Ben Haviour has established himself as a distinctive voice at the intersection of neoclassical, ambient, electronica, and post-rock—an album that was released on vinyl and truly came into its own through audiovisual concerts. Now the composer and sound architect from Weimar is turning the page to the next chapter: At the PAX Church in Leipzig, he will present new material for the first time—music that reaches even further, breathes even deeper. Cinematic soundscapes that slowly build up, shimmering electronic textures that flow into vast, almost sacred spaces.
The church is more than just a backdrop: its reverberation becomes part of the composition. Ben Haviour is accompanied by drummer Jakob Eisenberg and double bassist Samuel Kraft, who lend the electronic soundscapes an organic, physical dimension—somewhere between pulsating repetition and the intimacy of chamber music.
Award-winning director Anika Mätzke is responsible for the evening’s visual elements. Her projections intertwine with the music to create an immersive overall experience that blurs the lines between hearing and seeing.
The evening opens with Pony Pracht from Leipzig—the multifaceted solo project of singer and media artist Lisa L. Zwinzscher, whose roots in jazz vocals lend her “Cloud Machine Pop” an unmistakable depth. At the center is her voice—precise, vulnerable, bold, and human—which is layered, cloned, and transformed into a disembodied orchestra: a digital ecosystem straddling avant-garde pop, dreamtronica, and cloudpop, breathing with organic fluidity.
