In the first set of the bachelor concert, the Ben Prechtl Quartet presents its own compositions, anchored in modern jazz aesthetics and characterized by interaction, spontaneous improvisation and the joint development of musical ideas. Contemporary influences enter into a productive relationship with the jazz tradition; the focus is on an open, dynamic band sound that has grown from their time together in Hamburg. The second set brings together a big band with a personal selection ranging from traditional arrangements to more modern pieces - from Thad Jones to Bob Brookmeyer to Maria Schneider.
