The Textile Repair Café is looking for helpers for the charity sewing day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gustav Werner Forum in the Krankenhäusle. After the very successful charity sewing event two years ago, there will be another community event at the end of May to benefit the Gustav Werner Forum: We will again be sewing various projects together for a good cause on Sunday, May 31. These will then be sold at the BruderhausDiakonie annual festival on Sunday, June 28. The proceeds will support our inclusive work at the museum.

Simple sewing projects

Anyone who has the time and inclination to take part in the sewing day for a good cause is very welcome. We will be sewing from 10 am to 5 pm. Of course, you can also join us later and/or stay for a shorter time.We will be sewing simple and quick projects such as gym bags. Basic sewing skills are helpful. Sewing machines are available, but you are also welcome to bring your own machines. We always welcome clean, colorful cotton fabrics such as used table or bed linen. We are also very happy to receive ribbons, borders, braids, etc.

Guided tour of the exhibition included

Drinks, coffee and cake will be provided on the day of the event to thank you for your efforts. Guests are very welcome. The exhibition on the history of social welfare and industry in the Gustav Werner Forum will also be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of the event. There will also be a guided tour of the permanent exhibition with historian Andrea Anstädt and workshop employee Zdravka Jelicic at 3 pm.

Parking is available free of charge on Sundays in the neighboring parking lot and the former Reutlingen hospital, where the Gustav Werner Forum is located, is also well connected to public transport. Bus stops and the train station are only a few minutes' walk away.
