Right into the heart

Benjamin Appl is one of the most expressive artists of the young generation of singers and has been a household name for Hamburg song fans since October 2023 at the latest - he sang Robert Schumann's "Dichterliebe" with full vocal commitment as a replacement for Matthias Goerne, who was ill, in the Great Hall of the Elbphilharmonie. The verdict was clear: "Breathtaking!" (Hamburger Abendblatt). Now he returns with this cycle and can unfold his "huge range of colors" (Süddeutsche Zeitung) all the more effectively in the intimacy of the Kleines Saal. He is joined by his long-time piano partner and one of the most renowned accompanists James Baillieu.
