Julia Hornung from Munich is a bassist, Bergson artist and actually a sociologist in disguise. She reads a book a week - allegedly - and is interested in how people live together in society. And she combines this interest with her passion for music.

Because there, too, she is interested in togetherness: with the other musicians, but also with the audience. It's about connecting people. Her favorite way to do this is with the music of the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt. In her eyes, his music is eternally young, which is precisely why it still captivates audiences today. Driving rhythm guitar and dazzling, melodious improvisations are still the trademarks of gypsy swing, which originated in Parisian salon culture at the beginning of the 20th century. It is currently experiencing a real revival, for which Julia is partly responsible. Not least because of this, she received the BMW Welt Young Artist Jazz Award in 2021. Let yourself be inspired by the fast-paced, rousing music of gipsy jazz in our spectacular atrium.
