In the organizer's words:
"Birdsong Reverie" takes a focused look at the importance of birdsong in music history - given the current critical environmental situation in which bird populations are declining at an alarming rate. Conceived and performed by mezzo-soprano Sara Gouzy and pianist Justine Eckhaut, the program offers a unique opportunity to explore how composers of past and present generations have been inspired by the melodic songs of birds. Live field recordings of real birdsong are artfully interwoven with the songs, reinforcing the message of protecting our natural world.
