berlied Festival - Konzert: London Fog

"London Fog" is a poetic homage to the England of yesteryear - a program that evokes an atmosphere of intimacy, nostalgia and fine English style. The title refers not only to London's iconic fog, but also to a popular English tea preparation. Soprano Heather Newhouse, alto Anthea Pichanick and pianist Justine Eckhaut invite the audience on a musical journey through folk songs and works by Henry Purcell, artfully arranged by Benjamin Britten. Inspired by Britten's idea of interweaving baroque soundscapes with the musical roots of the 20th century, Trio Dara creates a soundscape that combines past and present in a special way - like a glimpse into an English boudoir through the veil of London fog.
