Being on the stage for 25 years and having his seventh stage program under his belt presents Bernhard Hoëcker with quite a few challenges. A simple statistic about previous appearances, audience numbers, kilometers driven etc. would be unworthy of him and all cold coffee. If he were to take a purely numerical mystical approach, he might stumble across seven as a lucky number or the seventh letter in the Hebrew alphabet. There, 7 is zayin, which means sword. This may bring him closer to the point, as Bernhard Hoëcker has been a champion of witty comedy since 2001.
He has now filtered all of his previous programs - and centrifuged them like a beekeeper making honey, carefully checking the material like a cave climber abseiling and using the finest grain for the final sanding like a carpenter. In doing so, he has worked out the essentials: the honey is pure, the rope is in tip-top order, the piece of wood is a haptic highlight - and thus the seventh stage program presents itself flawlessly and with maximum authenticity Hoëcker.
Now it will be exciting to see what he remembers after a quarter of a century and whether he can really remember it all. After all, remembering things in old age is one of those things, so he himself remains curious as to whether he has remained young enough to do so.
