Besichtigung Marstallmuseum mit Museum "Nymphenburger Porzellan"

With over 40 representative carriages and sleighs owned by the Wittelsbach family, the Marstallmuseum in Nymphenburg Palace documents 300 years of princely carriage building. Magnificent harnesses, precious riding accessories and historical pictorial documents bring the courtly world of travel and representation to life. The Marstallmuseum also displays the world's only collection of vehicles belonging to King Ludwig II. The king was closely involved in the production of his magnificent vehicles and was involved in the planning and construction of his carriages and sleighs from the initial idea to the last detail.
One of the exhibits in the museum is a model of a cherub sleigh measuring just 20 centimeters. This model was made especially for the king so that he could better imagine what the cherub's sleigh would look like "in size".
A collection of Nymphenburg porcelain is also on display on the upper floor. The Bäuml Collection documents the development of the porcelain manufactory from its foundation in 1747 to 1930. The showpieces are the sculptures by the famous porcelain artist Franz Anton Bustelli and the porcelain plate paintings from the 19th century.
