Poetry slam at the movies
Cabaret, comedy and the finest poetry, all in one evening? Poetry slam makes it possible. It's no coincidence that the format, which was declared a UNESCO cultural heritage site in 2016, ranges from uproariously funny stories and fast-paced poetry to political wit and emotional stories.
But that's not all: at the poetry slam, the show becomes a competition! The performers each have seven minutes to convince you - the audience - of their texts. You vote and decide who you want to see on stage again. The rules for the performers are simple: the texts must be written by the performers themselves and do without props or music.
No matter who leaves the theater as the winner in the end, it will always be masterful. After all, presenters Oscar Malinowski and Lukas Knoben will be welcoming four of the best slam poets in the German-speaking world to the Apollo Kino on September 24, 2024.
