At BEST OF QUEERSLAM, we invite the starlets of the queer slam scene to perform their self-written texts against each other in a competition. In addition to the usual rules: only self-written texts, no props, time limit of 6 minutes - the established poets can try out their artistic skills. It can be personal, funny, political, rhymed or prosaic - the audience decides who they like best and can take home the victory.

In addition to the battle of poetry, we have prepared all kinds of fancy stuff for you on and off stage. A musical feature will create an exuberant atmosphere, and you can get dolled up at the eyeliner stand and the costume shop to deliver the walk of your life on the catwalk after the break hehe. All free of charge and voluntary of course!

We have Pridemonth all year round and our event collective, the Wohnzimmerslam, has been organizing poetry slams in Dortmund and the surrounding area for 10 years. We see this show primarily as a place for queer art, gender euphoria and sparkling joy. A safe space where queer normality is lived and we can just be who we are (cool, cute and wonderful) for one evening!

Any form of discrimination has no place here and our awareness person will be available during the event for questions, criticism and emotional support. So grab your bestie, (chosen) family, relationship person(s) or just come alone. We are really looking forward to seeing you!

Admission starts at 6 pm, the slam at 7 pm. Admission works at the Box Office for a donation. Pay what you want!
