In the organizer's words:

The points of contact between music and literature are manifold: music is written about, texts are set to music or inspire composers to write their works. Some musicians have written texts themselves or collaborated with a poet in a congenial way.

In the library concerts organized in cooperation with the Dortmund City and State Library, the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra explores this interplay, tracking down forgotten works and shedding light on special highlights. A chamber ensemble from the orchestra will provide the musical template in each case. Double bassist Frank Kistner invites a guest and both play the literary balls to each other, which they then pass back to the musicians. The result is an entertaining mixture of reading and concert. The City and State Library, where texts and music are at home, invites you to Studio B.
