Once a month, there will once again be beer garden and pub concerts on the grounds of the Zentrum Altenberg in Oberhausen on Fridays. If the weather cooperates, a mini stage is set up in front of the Schmiede in the beer garden, where various artists, musicians or even small bands perform live music. If the weather is rainy and not necessarily "open air", the concerts will take place in the Schmiede.
The blues-inspired musician Edy Edwards will kick things off this year on 16.05.2025. You could also announce this small concert as a "Welcome Home - Show". Edy has spent the last 6 months touring Germany as a performer in the Jungle Book musical. As Tiger Shir Khan, the Ruhrpott musician was part of the ensemble on stage and entertained the audience.
From the jungle straight to the Altenberg beer garden.
We look forward to welcoming Edy back from the jungle to the Altenberger Biergarten for his first solo performance in a long time. The beer garden opens at 6 pm. At around 7 p.m. Edy will pick up his guitar, take the stage and play songs from his extensive repertoire.
The roots of rock, blues and Americana are omnipresent and clearly audible. His early musical upbringing has influenced him, from Robert Johnson to John Lee Hooker, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin - and they have left their mark. Coupled with modern influences from pop to electronic music, Edy has cultivated his own style.
When rock and blues have arrived in the here and now, a lot is allowed and even more is possible. It is precisely this freedom that Edy Edwards uses wherever he can.
