Hustle and bustle, engines, basses, sirens. The grand opera takes place every day in Neukölln. People who never wanted to meet fall into each other on Karl-Marx-Boulevard and in the Passage. Many thousands of deaths take place and at the same time life is celebrated in a polyphonic cacophony. What are the arias, recitatives, choirs and nuances of Neukölln? The sweaty, meaty sound of a wrestler's body hitting the mat, the a capella of an amateur choir or the tuned engines of the cruiser cars doing their laps on the boulevard?
The music theater group glanz&krawall lets the voices, songs and sounds of the neighborhood shine brightly with the open-air spectacle BIG IN NEUKÖLLN. Together with Sir Henry on the keys, the combo transforms the Passagenhof into an opera arena. In the Sonnenlichtspiele, the normal, marginal and nocturnal figures come to the microphone with their very own sounds and become opera stars. They sing, rap, beatbox, turn on the karaoke machine and play and improvise together. With Die Schlangenknaben, Die Tüten aus der Verwaltung, Junge Neuköllner Oper, Kaey, Landesjugendensemble Neue Musik, Lovegaze, Miss Lola Rose, Quartierchor Nachtigall, SVA Musical der Musikschule Neukölln, TAM, wrestler Orlando Silva and many more.
