The session band GROOVEMACHINE, led by Leipzig drummer and percussionist
percussionist Björn Kerstan (Purple Disco Machine, Bertram Engel), plays at "Joly's"
songs by the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac and catchy tunes from the retro soul
scene.
The term "yacht rock", coined by the American vernacular, originates from the
"jazz rock" genre of the late 1970s and early 80s. It probably symbolizes the
feeling of a balmy Californian evening, drink in hand, on a yacht in the sunset.
