In summer 2024, Kulturhaus Schwanen will once again present open-air culture on Schwaneninsel under the motto "We are colorful & loud" with a mixture of concerts, open formats for participation & club events

Black Sea Dahu

Black Sea Dahu are Janine Cathrein and a sworn band of passionate musicians. A creative alliance drives them forward, from the studio to the stages of the world. Orchestral, stormy and unpredictable. The way Black Sea Dahu's music straddles the colored lines of various genres is reminiscent of the softness of a touch and the freedom of Basquiat's brushstrokes. Their songs are about empathy, acceptance and the art of recognizing beauty in the never-ending dance between the ugly and the sublime.

It's about finding your roots and your place in a world that is always changing. It's about agency and self-empowerment. It's about all kinds of relationships: Love, family, society... But fundamentally it's a passionate and open love letter to music.

Since the release of their debut White Creatures, the band has been touring tirelessly in many countries and conquering packed clubs. Black Sea Dahu have shared stages with artists such as Ben Howard, José Gonzales, Lucy Rose and Sophie Hunger. With the current releases "Orbit" and "I Am My Mother" in their luggage, they played a major tour in Europe in 2023 and are now returning to Thun at the start of summer in 2024 - to us, to Mokka, to the Garden of Dreams!
