Blackbird Trio

With Alex Bayer and Michael Dubach in the current line-up, Uwe Langer has succeeded in putting together a versatile repertoire. The Berlin Blackbird Trio presents jazz standards, pieces from well-known musicals and interpretations of pop songs. Autobiographical references to the pieces and their respective composers play a unifying role.

Uwe Langer plays various brass instruments from tuba to trumpet. A shell from Hawaii is also used. Thanks in part to Bayer and Dubach's versatility on different instruments, the trio develops very different moods.

The equal working method results in surprising and unusual arrangements, in which the improvisational interplay grows into exciting worlds of sound.
