Bobby Beethoven | DJ-Set

We are looking forward to a DJ set by Bobby Beethoven as part of Spätschicht x Volksbühne.

Spätschicht - Live-Programm am Gropius Bau is a monthly, free series of events with an interdisciplinary program ranging from talks, book presentations and film screenings to concerts and DJ sets. In addition to the DJ set by Bobby Beethoven, this evening you can experience concerts by Dylan Kerr and Cortisa Star, a screening of CHEAP and the book launch of Über gefährliches Terrain by Vaginal Davis.

Clubs are in a state of tension: they are spaces of liberation and control - especially for those who are socially marginalized. Ashland Mines, known as Bobby Beethoven (aka Total Freedom), has been exploring this relationship for over a decade. He breaks down the traditional structure of DJ sets to redefine the danceable. His ability to understand DJ media players as expressive instruments has earned him cult status far beyond the underground and made him the pioneer of a worldwide network of artists who are radically reshaping the boundaries of electronic music and other disciplines.
