“Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar” went viral as a song on TikTok and Instagram, with people tap-dancing and rapping to it all over the world—from Würselen to Austin to Tokyo. It was written and performed by singer-songwriter and musical cabaret artist Bodo Wartke together with music producer Marti Fischer.

In an age of increasing linguistic coarseness—paradoxically both lamented and perpetuated by all sides—he delves deep into language and the playfulness of it, discovering the sparkling poetry and wonderful wit within. Bodo Wartke (born in Hamburg) is a singer-songwriter, playwright, and musical cabaret artist with nearly thirty years of stage experience. A Berliner by choice, he is extremely successful and has received numerous awards for his work.
