Bodo Wartke - Harbour Front Literaturfestival
In the organizer's words:
Tongue-Twister Stories
Musical Book Presentation
presented by Thalia
“Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar” went viral as a song on TikTok and Instagram, with people tap-dancing and rapping to it all over the world—from Würselen to Austin to Tokyo. It was written and performed by singer-songwriter and musical cabaret artist Bodo Wartke together with music producer Marti Fischer.
Bodo Wartke stands for something that is widely sought after but rarely found: intelligent entertainment for everyone! For sharp-witted children and parents who love language. In an age of increasing linguistic coarseness—paradoxically both lamented and perpetuated by all sides—he delves deep into language and the playfulness of it, discovering the sparkling poetry and wonderful wit within. Wartke’s specialty is challenging tongue twisters and the stories behind them—guaranteed to make you stumble over your words. Why on earth do the seven seal clans poke each other in the ribs on the cliffs? And why do people even come up with stuff like that?
Look forward to a musical book presentation followed by a book signing!
Bodo Wartke (born in Hamburg) is a singer-songwriter, playwright, and musical cabaret artist with nearly thirty years of stage experience. A Berliner by choice, he is extremely successful and has received numerous awards for his work.
