Bonobo Stories - Fotografien von Christian Ziegler aus dem Salonga Nationalpark - Eine Ausstellung des Max-Planck-Instituts für Verhaltensbiologie

In the organizer's words:

Salonga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of the last natural paradises on earth. There, teams from the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior are researching the lives of free-living bonobo groups in order to explain their unusual social behavior.

As part of this LuiKotale bonobo project, award-winning nature photographer Christian Ziegler has taken pictures that trace the personalities of the wild animals at close range.

Today, modern behavioral biology also works with digital methods. Not only can it collect long-term data on great apes, it can also track the migratory movements of different animals.

The exhibition provides insights into this research, which aims to help preserve the dwindling habitats of wild animals.
