Dramatic compendium by Caren Jeß

The play begins with an impertinence: in the foreword, the author claims that Bookpink is Low German for book finch. The fact that this is simply not true sets the tone for everything that follows. Namely a play in which the characters are called "Dreckspfau" or "Die Tagesform" and the marsh tit now calls itself Veroniko and no longer wants to shave its legs. By now at the latest, both experienced and inexperienced theatergoers suspect that the expectations of the theater experience are being played with here.

In Caren Jeß' "dramatic compendium", the otherwise wordless birds have their say and conjure up the abysses and visions of our confusing present. In seven artful and wonderfully slanted miniatures, the author dissects the impositions of our increasingly fragmented and constantly agitated society.
