In the organizer's words:
There is a lot on offer at the Matjestage: a 32-metre-long matjes roll, lots of delicious fish, arts and crafts, musical entertainment and much more. The "Nieuwe Haring" is expertly filleted by hand on the Dutch matjes cart. Several tons of fine sand, dotted with deckchairs and beach chairs with the best view of the shimmering harbour basin give you the right vacation feeling and invite you to relax and unwind in Nordic style. A cocktail or freshly grilled fish specialties from the restaurants or the surrounding pagodas round off the harbour experience.
