British Shorts Film Festival 2024 – Festival-Screening & Jurypreisverleihung

The British Shorts Film Festival presents an exciting screening of seven short films from the fields of comedy, drama, animation, experimental and fantasy:

Wild Summon (Experimental, Animation), D.: Karni Arieli, Saul Freed, 14:38 min.
The life cycle of wild salmon as an animated fantasy adventure, narrated by Marianne Faithfull.

For people in trouble (Drama), D.: Alex Lawther, 16:05 min.
Jenny and Paul meet in a pub and fall in love while the world collapses around them.

Choked Up (Comedy), D.: Jill Worsley, 12:57 min.
A coughing fit derails an explosive TV interview and with it the career of Environment Secretary Fiona Lacey (Maxine Peake, "Funny Cow").

Porous (Animation), D.: Cecilia Reeve, 04:00 min.
A woman takes a bath and thinks about past experiences. In the water she enters a space outside of time.

White Ant (Drama, Mystery), D.: Shalini Adnani, 15:00 min.
A man is called from Mumbai to his home village to solve the termite problem in his parents' house.

The Riley Sisters (Drama), dir.: Julia Jackman, 11:00 min.
Izzy and Jess fight to prove their brother's innocence.

Linda (Comedy), D.: Joe Lycett, 07:48 min.
Linda gets a job at a post office, but her unbelievable stories soon make her colleagues suspicious.

Plus: jury award ceremony:
Following the festival screening, the jury will announce the winning film of the Jury Award and the award-winning work will then be screened again. (The nominated films will be announced on January 18 at the opening screening at City Kino Wedding and via social media).
