Three authors show us how diverse literature can be - beyond the classic canon.
Reading opens up the world to us. In good stories, we learn something about ourselves and the diverse forms of life. Literature can be a dwelling place, an open question, a space of possibility outside of our everyday lives. So why does the classical canon still only show us a small part of the world? Why are we often taught a norm in schools and feature pages that exists neither in the world nor in literature? Why is the diversity of queer identities and lifeworlds so little reflected in the perception of literature?
This book takes an in-depth look at queer literature and shows that it has always been part of literary history. It is an invitation to recognize the full diversity of reading.

Marlon Brand writes about queer literature under @booksaregayasfuck and publishes the newsletter magazine "Queerer Kanon?" together with Tobi Schiller.
Bianca-Maria Braunshofer is co-founder of the queer-feminist bookshop o*books, a social pedagogue and Germanist.
Tobi Schiller is an editor, author and literary mediator. He has been running the newsletter magazine "Queerer Kanon?" with Marlon Brand since 2021.

Georgina Fakunmoju is a journalist and podcaster. In her literature podcast "Readers Gonna Read", she mainly discusses authors of color from Germany, Africa and the African diaspora.
