What better date than Friday the thirteenth?
Just like last year from comic artist Sean Chuang, this time we will also learn a lot from Kevin Chen about life on a fascinating island that has developed into a high-tech country and a beacon of democracy and diversity in recent decades, but at the same time is still characterized by (super)faith in many respects. At the same time, Mr. Chen will certainly also talk about his life between two worlds, namely his adopted home of Berlin and his home village in central Taiwan.
As Mr. Chen has also worked as a translator, presenter and actor, we are in for an exciting evening.
The event is organized by Galerie-7 in cooperation with Taiwanherz and will be moderated in German. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to purchase the book and have it signed by the author. Free admission. The hat goes around.
Kevin Chen, born in 1976 in Changua, Taiwan, began his artistic career as a film actor and appeared in the Taiwanese and German films Ghosted, Kung Bao Huhn and Global Player. He now lives in Berlin and works as a writer for the magazine Performing Arts Review.
Monika Li, born in Heidelberg in 1985, studied German, Philosophy and Sinology at the University of Heidelberg and at the National Taiwan University. She has been translating literature from Taiwan and China into German since 2020.
Reason enough for us to present the work and the Berlin-based author on a reading tour
