In the organizer's words:

The 'café istanbul' opens its doors again for a colorful Sunday - this time even into the night...

We will once again transform the beautiful AtelierZentrumEhrenfeld into a cozy place to linger, experience and relax, meet friends and make new acquaintances.

Immerse yourself in a diverse world and enjoy the colorful hustle and bustle of the 'café istanbul' with music, drinks & food, play in the 17th Turkish delicatessen baking gammon tournament (all information can be found here), or retreat to a relaxed seating area. Look forward to our "late evening program", when the atmosphere becomes really cosy as darkness falls and the right sound is played and the Çay with the meze is replaced by a cold Rakı.

And because Monday is a public holiday, we'll be staying open until 02:00 on Easter Sunday!

Deep Dive

Café Istanbul is a place for inter- and transcultural as well as post-migrant gatherings, getting to know each other and exchange.

Structural exclusions and barriers make participation and access to (post-)migrant artists, content and culture difficult. This leads to a self-reinforcing effect and to more racist prejudices and exclusion. Resisting racism also means questioning our own cultural and social behavior. Get out of the bubble and come to Café Istanbul.

We create a safe space and attention for (post-)migrant content, culture and artists. A safe space for presenting, networking, empowering and community building. We value respectful and attentive interaction. With or without a migrant background - everyone is invited.
