CANTICO – 20 Jahre Sjaella

The Leipzig women's vocal ensemble Sjaella is celebrating its 20th birthday! Two anniversary concerts are planned - the first will take place on June 1 at 5 pm in the Heilandskirche/Westkreuz in Leipzig-Plagwitz. Lovers of early music will get their money's worth with Heinrich Schütz and hymn settings by Eleonora d'Este, Clemens non Papa and Melchior Franck. The singers will also be joined by guest cornettist Josué Meléndez Peláez, a virtuoso improviser in his field. The old masters in the program are joined by female composers of our time - it's all about the beauty of nature, womanhood and love.
After the concert, Sjaella invites you to stay and toast!
