The exhibition Cassirer and the Breakthrough of Impressionism shows Paul Cassirer's impressive commitment to art through over 100 outstanding works of Impressionism and classical modernism.
With an exceptionally dense and continuous exhibition activity, the Berlin-based gallery owner Paul Cassirer was instrumental in promoting the spread of French Impressionism in Germany. Through him, artists such as Edgar Degas, Paul Cézanne, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir and Vincent van Gogh gained greater attention in German-speaking countries for the first time.
