Because I'm trying to work my way up to her level ... I think she's the greatest pop singer in the world. Without exception, male or female." These two women, these two voices could not be more different and yet they share one great love: music! Where Ella Fitzgerald lent her very own heart to the songs with her versatile, virtuoso voice, Hildegard Knef shaped and convinced with her emotionality, her almost speaking, very deep smoky singing and her great poetry. They both particularly loved the songs written by Cole Porter.

In the program "Ella and Hilde", Isabella Rapp, accompanied on the piano, sings classics and forgotten favourite songs by the two world stars and talks about the similarities and differences between these very different biographies.
