CHARLES LLOYD

In 2019, Charles Lloyd gave a single and unique concert in Istanbul in trio with Gerald Clayton and Marvin Sewell. The memory of it was so positive that now, with the end of the pandemic and in the year of his 85th birthday, which he celebrates with some of his favorite ensembles around the world, Lloyd continues the collaboration with these two musicians. Pianist Gerald Clayton has performed with Lloyd for ten years and is intimately familiar with his musical language. He is linked to guitarist Marvin Sewell by his roots in the Mississippi Delta. For the performance at Pierre Boulez Saal, Ocean Trio II will be joined by special guest Danish guitarist Jakob Bro.
