CHÉRI CHÉRI + THE SPITTERS

In the organizer's words:

Slow Club Fribourg presents: CHÉRI CHÉRI + THE SPITTERS

Chéri Chéri's
story began with an audition poster inspired by "School of Rock", which was put up on a street post near Notre-Dame in Paris by front woman Celia Marie.
Four musicians answered the call and after countless nights of songwriting and rehearsing, Chéri Chéri recorded their debut EP ''Don't You Think It's Funny'' with legendary producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes) in Leeds.
"Don't You Think It's Funny" captures the essence of Chéri Chéri: Silly, wild and fantastic riffs! Inspired by the spirit of Led Zeppelin and the punk poetry of Patti Smith, they deliver that unmistakable ''Je ne sais quoi'' we could only wish for from a French-American band.
A wild, vintage punch straight from the Parisian rock scene!

The Spitters
are an explosive meeting of four spirited personalities from Toulon in the south of France:
Max, Dorian, Barny and Sloog.
With a mixture of garage revival and 77' punk with catchy pop melodies, the band rocks small and large stages all over Europe. Communicative energy, high-caliber shows and good vibes since 2014, when the band released their first album "Crazy" via Death to Majors Records.
Their surprisingly heterogeneous second album "Movement" was released in 2016, followed two years later by their third album entitled "Critical Strike", also under the Death to Majors Records label.
Back to their punk roots of the 70s, deliberately lo-fi and with the pure destructive violence of the 80s, without compromise!
With three albums under their belt, the band started rocking bigger stages, killer festivals in France and iconic UK venues like London and Brighton...
Back from their tour and working hard in the chaotic times of 2020, The Spitters signed a deal with international label Tentacles Industries.
Recorded by French garage legend Lo Spider [The Monsters, Slift, Magnetix...], "Kitty Brain" will be released on October 13, 2022 and will be distributed and promoted worldwide.
11 tracks in which you can hear the essence of the band: Garage, punk, pop, melodies.

The meeting with Bad Nerves during a show in Paris in October 2023 marks a turning point for the band. They decide to collaborate with Mike Curtis (who recorded Bad Nerves) to mix their fifth album.
Influenced by classic 77s punk (The Damned, Buzzcocks) as well as more modern references (Stiff Richards, Wine Lips), "Fake Brutal" is the result of a quest for sonic efficiency and melody that began 10 years ago.
Thirteen tracks of unstoppable riffs that leave no time to catch your breath, highlighted by the work of Mike Curtis and assisted by Christian Wright from Abbey Road Studios on mastering.
The band has had the honor and pleasure of sharing the stage with acts such as The Hives, Ty Segall, Suicidal Tendencies, Phoenix, Kurt Vile, Red Fang, Ryan Adams and many more! We look forward to future tours and festivals to promote "Kitty Brain" as much as possible!
