After EUROFIST, PORTAL and ARMAGEDDON, Kampnagel's favorite drag wrestling collective returns to the Hanseatic city: In their new show, which celebrates its European premiere at Kampnagel one week after its world premiere in New Orleans, the home planet of the alien media mogul Gorlëënyah explodes live on television. With the help of her AI sex bot Visqueen, she relaunches her wrestling empire on Earth. But it is threatened by a vengeful ex-contestant and a jealous billionaire... Between sci-fi, glamor and wrestling excess, an ecstatic theater of transformation emerges: loud, glittering, political and radically queer. CHOKE HOLE began in 2018 in a warehouse in New Orleans as an anarchic spectacle of drag, camp and chaos. The fact that it has long since become an international phenomenon is proven not only by the 3000 spectators who enthusiastically celebrated the last sold-out shows at Kampnagel, but also most recently by the ARTE Tracks contribution "Queer Emancipation through Wrestling", which put Choke Hole in the international spotlight with its very own mixture of drag, wrestling and activism. At Kampnagel, they will once again present an evening that breaks all genre boundaries and celebrates community.
