CLASSICS OF THE SWING ERA

Casual, elegant, rousing and entertaining. On this concert evening, Chris Hopkins and the international jazz stars Nicki Parrott, Antti Sarpila and Tijn Trommelen present classics from the swing era from the repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra as well as other gems from the Great American Songbook from Cole Porter to George Gershwin, spiced up with a pinch of Hollywood glamor à la Henry Mancini.

AN ALL-STAR CAST

For this extraordinary concert, piano virtuoso Chris Hopkins presents an international star cast. Australian Nicki Parrott enchants with her double bass, vocals and natural charisma. Her debut album Moon River made her a recording star in Japan in 2008. She is joined by Finland's best-known jazz musician and Benny Goodman stylist Antti Sarpila on clarinet and saxophone. The laid-back Dutch guitarist and singer in the style of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole Tijn Trommelen completes the all-star quartet. Together they play and swing their way through an unforgettable evening.

With over 5000 live concerts to his name, Chris Hopkins is one of the busiest artists on the international jazz scene. Even at a young age, he played alongside stars such as Clark Terry, Scott Hamilton, Butch Miles and Dick Hyman. He has been involved in over 50 CD productions, some of which have received the German Record Critics' Award or the Prix de l'Academie du Jazz, Paris. He was recently awarded the Keeper of the Flame and the Jazz-Pott Award for Best Progressive Artist for his services to classical jazz in Europe. Chris Hopkins is also celebrated every year for his very special Christmas program.
