In the organizer's words:
Christiane Pieper's art moves between reality and abstraction - in search of the elemental in painting.
In her color surfaces, color becomes a myth: the eye begins to wander, always finding new paths, depths and lights that maintain balance in their tension and fascinate with their expressive power.
For the special structures and effects, she uses only lightfast color pigments and high-quality oil and acrylic paints. Beeswax and clay are also incorporated into the painting process. Color and structures unite to create a harmony that combines an almost meditative depth through a multitude of thin layers of paint.
