CINEMASHER is a dystopian, compressed idea of what happens to our brains through constant media consumption. A chaotic compilation of snippets without context - theoretically exhausting, the installation turns out to be a relaxed and entertaining viewing experience in practice. It gives you the feeling that you have experienced and understood the films shown, although in reality you have only seen a very select number of snippets that have been superimposed. An optical artistic illusion of your own mind.

The work of Judith Meister and Dean Wallflower reflects the media consumption behavior of contemporary society with little patience and a great desire for varied entertainment. The philosophical basis of CINEMASHER rests on the tradition of the essay film. As an experimental film form on the fringes of documentary and fiction, essay film eschews traditional causality and continuity and focuses on subjective associations, analogies and contrasts. Like the source of inspiration, CINEMASHER develops its own narrative form, which is subjective, fragmentary, and at the same time captivating and aesthetic.
