Directed by circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz and performed by core members of the outstanding Circa Ensemble,*North of Now*reduces the circus to its essence: the weight of a person, held entirely in the hands of another—and the heart-stopping question of whether the saving grip will come in time.

“In the rivers north of the future, I cast out the net,” wrote the poet Paul Celan, describing a place beyond time where hope nevertheless endures. That is precisely where these acrobats move: in the moment before the catch, in the landing that exists only as movement, in the future we create by reaching for it.

Falling and flying become one and the same gesture—viewed only from different angles. Seven bodies find balance in a world that never stands still, and seek transcendence in the everyday miracle of supporting one another.

North of Now goesbeyond spectacle and aims for genuine presence. In an era of digital sensory overload, it becomes something truly radical—and deeply empowering—when real bodies come together to achieve the breathtaking.
