With its production “Cupido,” created especially for Saarbrücken, Cirque Bouffon explores life’s grand emotions. In a poetic world between dream and reality, imagination, tenderness, and joie de vivre come together in a truly unique way.

Directed by Frédéric Zipperlin and accompanied by the moving music of composer Sergej Sweschinski, the result is a sensual total work of art full of magic, humor, and beauty. International performers, musicians, clowns, and fantastical creatures transport the audience to a world where time passes more slowly and the small wonders of the moment become visible once again.

In the distinctive style of the French Nouveau Cirque, acrobatics, music, and poetry blend into a moving narrative about the power of human connections. At times playful and lighthearted, at other times profound and moving, “Cupido” tells the story of what connects us and brings us together.
