Clara Z - Fighting where life is
Play by Anja Panse
Content
She was uncomfortable, passionate, radical: Clara Zetkin - women's rights activist, communist, visionary. A woman who broke boundaries, stood up for her convictions and helped shape the political events of her time, she fought for equal rights, peace and freedom with an iron will and a warm-hearted demeanor - and paid a high price for it. She founded the International Women's Day, lived an unconventional love, defied illness and repression, and opened the Reichstag in 1932 - at the risk of her life - as President of the Reichstag.
"Clara Z - Kämpfen, wo das Leben ist" takes an intense, personal look at the life of a woman who was more than just a historical figure: a friend of Rosa Luxemburg and Lenin, a staunch critic of capitalism and a tireless fighter for the liberation of women and the working class.
A play that brings history to life - inspiring, moving and frighteningly topical.
